UPDATES

  • Take our Survey! We are asking all of our hosts to take our online survey so we can improve our training program. Please check your email for a link to the survey.
  • Check out our online resources! You will have access to videos, audio samples, and written materials to help you become more effective in using the media to get your message out to the public.

Below is everything you needed to be a successful host on Thursday, January 17th. These pages are designed to give you all the information you need and additional resources to help you gain a better understanding of the material covered in the training.

We will keep these resources available to you!

The first step in being a host is reading through the Your Responsibilities section. But between now and January 17th, it's important to take the time to read through all the details of the training. That includes:

f What You Need to Print for the Training
  • Your Responsibilities - This is the most important information you'll have as a host. It explains everything you need to know before, during and after the training and what you need to do to be an effective host.
  • Attendance Form - All participants will sign in when they arrive. After the training, you will submit the attendance sheet by mail or email.
  • Guest Packets - On the actual evening of the training, you're going to need to provide your participants with short training packets. You can download them here.
  f Additional Resources
  • Video Download - If you need to download the training video, click here.
  • The Goals of the Training - In preparation for the evening, we have some resources available that will help you understand what "earned media" is and the goals of the training.
  • Frequently Asked Questions - These are the answers to some of the questions you might have about the training.
  • Invite People to your House Party Training - As a host, you should definitely recruit folks to attend your house party. We have some tools that you can use to spread the word about your event.
  • Share Pictures from the Night! - We would love to have you take photographs of your house party! We have created a group with Flickr, an online tool for storing photographs. You can share all the photos of your house party by uploading them to our joint account and see all the pictures from the other parties!

If you have any questions about being a host, the first thing you should do is read through the documents above. Most things you need to be an effective host and run a great training are included above.

If you have read through the above resources and still have questions, you can find information about contacting CPL Action Network in the Frequently Asked Questions.

UPDATE!

* Share pictures from your house party training!
