The evening is designed to place as little responsibility on the shoulders of the house party hosts as possible. Each party includes four different elements of training, including:
- Mobilization Training Video - A 23-minute video covering the core concepts of grassroots politics, including a focus on volunteer recruitment, voter outreach, and integrating leadership development into your efforts.
- Conference Call - After the video, you'll join a 25-minute conference call with a national grassroots expert who will field questions about the fundamentals of recruiting volunteers and reaching out to voters.
- Interactive Role-Play - In each house party, you'll divide up into small groups and practice techniques for recruiting volunteers and communicating with voters.
The program lasts 2 hours and includes a combination of video training, conference call, and interactive role play. Each house party includes 10-25 attendees of varying levels of experience. The schedule for each house party is:
6:45 – 7:00 Arrival
7:00 – 7:10 Introductions
7:10 – 7:33 Training Video
7:33 – 7:50 Conference Set-up
7:50 – 8:15 Conference Call (with National Expert)
8:15 – 8:55 Role Play
8:55 – 9:00 Conclusion Video
We will also provide a series of online post-training resources that will include more details on mobilization, developing a campaign strategy, in-depth guide to techniques for talking to volunteers and voters, frequently asked questions, and extended interviews with national experts.
The online community will also give you a chance to meet and connect with all the other Grassroots Mobilization Training participants in your area and across the country.
How to Get Involved:
Note: If you are interested in participating in the training, but cannot host a house party...then check back here on September 12th and you can sign-up to attend a house party training in your community.
