We will provide you with everything you need to host a successful training on September 21st; however, there are some important details that you should read before applying to be a host. Please read the details below if you are thinking about applying to be a host!
Below is a list of all the things you'll need if you are interested in hosting a house party training this September.
The four things you need to be a host:
- A comfortable space that can fit between 5 and 25 people
- A working television with a DVD player or computer that can play a 20-minute training video (if you want to use a DVD, it cost $5 plus cost of shipping and handling)
- A speaker phone that you can use for the conference call
- Access to a printer and/or a copier in order to distribute the guest materials for the training (4-5 pages per guest)
The role of a host before the training:
First and foremost, by signing up to be a host, you are agreeing to have members of your community come to your house for a training. We will limit the number of participants that sign up in accordance with the maximum attendance you indicate. Every time someone signs up to join your house party, you will get an email notification that includes their name, address, and contact information. You are more than welcome to contact them prior to the training.
You are welcome to invite as many of your own friends, family, co-workers, and acquaintances as you like; however, they need to register through the website.
The role of a host during the training:
During the course of the training, your responsibility will be to:
- Print and hand out the guest packets for your attendees
- Play the DVD or training video
- Set up the conference call with a speaker phone
- Help facilitate the interactive portion of the evening in your party
- Fill out a post-training evaluation
- Help ensure that your participants get the most out of the experience
The way to find out answers to your questions as a host:
There will be a Frequently Asked Questions section for all hosts, as well as detailed materials outlining every step of the training. However, you will also be assigned a House Party Captain who is an experienced trainer or facilitator. If you have any questions about the evening, what your role is, or technical problems, please check the website for potential answers. If you can’t find the answer, you can contact your House Party Captain directly.
We will also arrange three optional conference calls for hosts to join and listen to details on how to run a successful house party training.
How to Get Involved:
Note: If you are interested in participating in the training, but cannot host a house party...then check back here on September 12th and you can sign-up to attend a house party training in your community.
